As Cassise Goes...

...so go the Golden Grizzlies. In front of a packed house tonight at the O'rena, the Grizz took care of business and the WIU Leathernecks 91-82. Senior Brandon Cassise saved some of his best collegiate work for his last home game and drained 5 three pointers en route to 21 overall. He looked calm, he looked aggressive, and he looked like exactly what the GG need heading into Tulsa.

Seriously, this is the best Oakland has looked all season. Derick Nelson continues to be the leader of the team, scoring 24 tonight. But overall the team has gelled. They look scary good.

Game Notes

• Will Hudson is growing before our eyes. Another solid game from the freshman. If he gets stronger over the winter, watch out.
• Can you imagine Nelson with a better outside shot? The guy is already unstoppable; he could be all world.
• If Kangas and Cassise both hit shots in a game, this team is in the Dance
• Speaking of, the small lineup (Cassise, Kangas, JJ and Nelson, with a PF) has been a nice surprise. I think it'd work against anyone in the Summit not named Oral Roberts.
• Pat McCloskey will be missed. He epitomized what it meant to be a Kampe player -- hardworking and honorable.
• I did not need to see Hooper in his BVDs
• Great to see a packed house tonight. Wish it'd happen more often -- although we would need more concessions. Speaking of, can we do better than what we're getting? Maybe some chips, a few more candy choices?
  
• B-Jay and Bieszki scored. What I wouldn't give to say I scored a point in a D1 game
