Oakland traveled to lovely Indiana on Saturday for an afternoon matchup against conference newcomer IPFW. Although 3-3 in the conference, the Mastodons came into the game 1-4 in their last 5 games. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies proved to be the cure for the Fort Wayne blues.
The game ended up being a tale of two halves. OU picked the wrong 50%. The Grizz led by 13 points with less than 18 minutes to play, but managed to squander the lead, and the game, losing 77-69.
The Grizzlies are now 4-3 in the Summit, tied with the Mastodons for third place.
- Steve Warden of the Journal Gazette said IPFW made one of the more dramatic turnarounds in this, or any other season in its history
- Coach Kampe said the team had open shots, but didn't make them
As a reminder, I will be appearing on the WXOU "Basketball Show" this Tuesday at 3 PM. Stream it on the Web here.
