Before the season started, the race for Mr. Basketball was already over in many people's eyes. Draymond Green, Saginaw High's golden boy, was a shoo-in to win before moving onto the hardwood at Michigan State.
But Oakland recruit Blake Cushingberry has something to say about that, according to Tom Markowski of the Detroit News. Cush has been outstanding (27 PPG and 11 RPG) in leading Romeo to a 12-1 record. Still, Markowski states, he is hampered by the anonymity of Macomb County basketball.
Cush has been dominant of late, and could be making a strong push for Michigan's most prized postseason basketball award. It'd be Oakland's first Mr. Basketball recruit.
