I did a quick statistical analysis this morning of Cassise's production with and without Kangas in the lineup.
Check this out:
PPG with Kangas in lineup: 6.0 PPG
PPG Without Kangas: 16.8 PPG
Of course, he's getting more minutes, right? Answer, yes. But look at his points per minute, which also goes up significantly with Kangas out:
PPM with Kangas: 0.265 Points per minute
PPM without Kangas: 0.491 Points per minute
That's nearly double the production. On average, Cassise plays 34 minutes per game with Kangas out; 22 with him in the lineup.
Lastly, FG%, which is horrible either way, but slightly better without Kangas:
FG% with Kangas: 32%
FG% without Kangas: 35%
Bottom line: Cassise plays much better with Kangas out of the lineup. You could interpret this as "Cassise plays much better with more minutes."
The next most import stat I need to figure out is Equivalent FG%, which will factor in BC's 3-point ability with and without Kangas. I'll update that later in the day.
