After a few days off with the stomach flu and dealing with contractors, the blog is back. There's a TON to cover this week. We had preps in action, we had OU winning at an arena named for garbage, and we have a couple Dakotas this week, neither of which is a Fanning.
So, first things first. I received an interesting email today from a person I can only describe as my Drew Maynard informant. Here's the text:
Thank you, informant. As we have been saying here, Drew has been taking over in most games. Look at Country Day -- he scored 37 of his team's 59 points. The guy is a beast. And the best part is he seems to be getting better as the season goes on.Against Avondale: 23 points/24 rebounds (win 57-54)Rochester: 20 points/10 rebounds (win 48-27)Detroit Country Day: 37 points/ 13 Rebounds (loss 59-70)Averaging: 23 points and 12 reboundsWe are still leading in our league, most of the games we have lost have all been against the better schools, like Clarkston, Detroit Country Day, Pontiac. Lake Orion is usually playing with Drew and (4) sophomores.
- This Observer and Eccentric notes that Drew had 25 boards in the Avondale win, a school record
- The Dragon basketball site has some pics from the Rochester win
- Blake Cushingberry had 18 points in Romeo's win on Friday
- Could Jay Thames be the player of the year in northern Macomb County? (Thanks to German for the link)
